La Liga leaders Real Madrid will look to return to winning ways evening when they travel to San Mames to take on Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.

ATHLETIC BILBAO RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Athletic Bilbao has won five, drawn nine, and lost four of their 18 La Liga matches this season to collect 24 points, leaving them in the ninth position in the La Liga table, just five points behind fifth-placed Atletico Madrid. They had been on an eight-game winless run in the league before Sunday’s match with Real Betis. Athletic Bilbao managed to return to winning ways at San Mames at the weekend, with Inaki Williams scoring twice in a 3-2 victory. Marcelino’s side has had real struggles in front of the goal, as Bilbao has failed to score in six of their last eight matches. Athletic are without a victory against Los Blancos in La Liga since March 2015, while they have lost five of the last six league fixtures between the two sides. Head Coach will again be without the services of a number of important players as Asier Villalibre, Dani Vivian, Peru Nolaskoain and Yuri Berchiche remain unavailable through injury, while Inigo Martinez and Unai Simon are both out with COVID-19. Midfielder Dani Garcia returns after a suspension.

REAL MADRID RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Real Madrid saw their 10-game winning run in all competitions come to an end when they were held to a goalless draw by Cadiz at the Bernabeu on Sunday. Los Blancos, missing a number of first-team players through coronavirus, struggled to make their mark against Cadiz, but it has still been an excellent La Liga campaign to date with 13 wins, four draws, and one loss in 18 matches to pick up 43 points. Real Madrid are six points clear of second-placed Sevilla, who have a game in hand, but Ancelotti’s side are 14 points clear of reigning champions Atletico and some 16 ahead of Barcelona, with both teams considerably off the pace this term. Defensively, Real Madrid has been solid keeping five successive clean sheets and conceding just four goals in their last ten games. Real Madrid are victorious on their last two La Liga visits to San Mames, and we are backing the league leaders to secure another huge three points hereRodrygo, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Isco, Luka Modric, and Marcelo are out with Covid19. Casemiro is suspended so we could see a midfield of Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Toni Kroos. It would be interesting to see if Eden Hazard starts here again.

PREDICTION: MADRID WIN 1-0/2-0/2-1
