Benevento vs Lazio Serie A Betting Tips, Predictions and Odds

Benevento host Lazio in Serie A on Tuesday. Lazio have recorded three big wins from their last four against Benevento.  Star striker Ciro Immobile has been in fine goalscoring form this season and will be looking to add to his impressive tally.

Benevento enjoyed a three-match unbeaten run prior to their loss to Sassuolo last week. A 52nd minute Riccardo Improta goal saw Benevento record an emphatic 1-0 over Fiorentina – their third of the season – before holding Juventus to a 1-1 draw in the next game. This was followed with a 0-0 draw with Parma, before their run came to an end when they were defeated 1-0 by Sassuolo.  Benevento sit five points above the relegation zone in 15th on the table. Last season’s Serie B champions have had to make do without several key players this season. Midfielder Nicolas Viola will again be sidelined as he nurses a contracture, while wing-back Christian Maggio will also miss with a calf injury.  In defence, Benevento will be without Luca Caldirola – who continues to recover from a knee injury.

Lazio’s three match unbeaten run came to an end in their last Serie A match. I Biancocelesti saw off Borussia Dortmund away from home in a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League, with Ciro Immobile equalising in the 67th minute.  Immobile has continued his impressive Golden boot winning form from last season, scoring 11 goals across all competitions so far. Lazio backed this up with a 2-1 win away to Spezia – Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic the goalscorers. This was backed up with a 2-2 draw against Club Brugge which ensured qualification into the Champions League Round of 16.  Although the side’s run would come to an end at the hands of Hellas Verona last week in a 2-1 defeat at home.  Joaquin Correa is expected to start after he made a full recovery from injury. The Argentine forward came off the bench in Lazio’s loss to Hellas Verona.  Meanwhile, striker Vedat Muriqi will miss yet another week as he recovers from a muscular injury, with veteran Senad Lulic also expected to miss with injury.

These two sides have only met on the four occasions, with Lazio winning three and the other ending in a draw.  Their most recent meeting ended in a 0-0 draw – an improvement for Benevento who were convincingly defeated in the other three meetings.  Lazio’s three wins against Benevento have all been by a four-goal margin. Immobile scored a double the last time Lazio beat Benevento, as I Biancocelesti went on to win 6-2. Ciro Immobile will be the man to stop for Benevento. The Italian forward has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season and has netted three goals in his last three against Benevento. Lazio will also be determined to close the gap on the top four and rectify last week’s loss at home to Hellas Verona.
