Manchester United will aim to catch in on the fourth position in the premier league table when they travel to Brentford Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

BRENTFORD RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Brentford made it back-to-back home wins in the Premier League on Friday with a late comeback against Watford. The Bees appeared to be heading for a 1-0 home defeat, with Emmanuel Dennis netting in the first half for the Hornets, but Pontus Jansson equalized in the 84th minute before Bryan Mbuemo hit a 96th-minute winner from the penalty spot in dramatic fashion. Brentford has won five, drawn five, and lost six of their 16 Premier League matches this season to collect 20 points, which has left them in 10th position in the premier league table, nine points clear of the relegation zone. Four of Brentford’s eight home premier league games have featured fewer than three goals. Brentford has made their stadium a tough ground for visiting teams as they beat Arsenal on the opening weekend of the campaign and have also held Liverpool at the Brentford Community Stadium this season. Brentford will be able to welcome Sergi Canos back into the fold following a suspension. The Bees still have a number of absentees, though, with Mathias Jorgensen, Kristoffer Ajer, David Raya, Tariqe Fosu-Henry, Josh Dasilva, Julian Jeanvier, Ethan Pinnock, and Ivan Toney all unavailable for selection.

MANCHESTER UNITED RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Manchester United were far from at their best in their last premier league outing against Norwich City on Saturday, but Cristiano Ronaldo’s 75th-minute penalty and heroics from the in-form David De Gea secured a huge three points for the Red Devils, who have now been victorious in their last three Premier League matches to put themselves back in top-four contention. Back-to-back 1-0 wins in the league extended United’s unbeaten run to six matches. They have won four of these, only dropping points away to Chelsea and at home against Young Boys with a heavily rotated side. Manchester United are now unbeaten in 32 of their last 34 away Premier League matches, while back-to-back clean sheets in the premier league will also have boosted confidence ahead of this match. Victor Lindelof was forced off with chest pains against Norwich and could be replaced by Eric Baily in the starting XI. Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani both returned to full first-team training on Monday and could be in contention, but Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are unavailable. Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are major doubts. Marcus Rashford could be replaced by Mason Greenwood in the final third in a bid to rotate the side.
