UEFA Champions League | Celtic Park | 13th August

A home win is the tip as Celtic host CFR Cluj in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League third round qualifier at Celtic Park. The Scottish team earned a draw in the first leg and at odds of 1.62, are tipped the secure the victory on Tuesday having won five of their last six matches across all competitions.

Celtic earned a 1-1 draw in the first leg with James Forrest’s 37th minute effort ensuring they came away from Cluj with a share of the spoils. They followed up that result with a 5-2 victory at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday with the midfielder once again on the score sheet.

Neil Lennon’s men usually impress in front of their fans and have won four of their last five home matches in the Champions League.  Their excellent home form in the competition has them at good value of 1.62 to secure the victory on Tuesday.
Ryan Christie is the man in form for Celtic with seven goals in his last six matches. He is set to retain his place in midfield while Odsonne Edouard is expected to continue in attack having found the net twice in his last three appearances.

Cluj would have been left disappointed by the 1-1 draw in the first leg having been unable to hold on for the win. They went in front on 28 minutes through Mario Rondon but were pegged back by the Scots as the lead only lasted nine minutes.
The Romanians often struggle on their travels in the Champions League having failed to win in their last three away matches. Given their poor record on the road, Dan Petrescu’s men are not favoured to win in Scotland at odds of 6.00 while a draw is valued at 3.60.
Mario Rondon’s goal in the first leg was only his second in his last seven matches for Cluj. The striker should continue in attack on Tuesday alongside Abdel Omrani, who has just one goal in his last four matches.

Ryan Christie’s excellent form means he will be the one to watch for Celtic on Tuesday. The midfielder has been superb in front of goal in recent weeks and with Odsonne Edouard also impressing in attack, the hosts should have too much quality for the Romanians.
In contrast, Cluj have struggled in attack with Mario Rondon scoring just twice in his last seven matches. Strike partner Abdel Omrani has also found things difficult in recent weeks and both men are not expected to get much joy in Scotland.
