Chelsea will look to maintain pressure on the top spot in the Premier League when they face a distorted Everton side on Thursday night.

CHELSEA RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Chelsea saw off Leeds in an entertaining 3-2 match at the weekend. The game was headed for a draw at a rainy Stamford Bridge, as Raphinha, Joe Gelhardt, Jorginho, and Mason Mount all struck. However, in the dying minutes of the encounter, center-back Antonio Rudiger won his second penalty of the afternoon, which Jorginho converted to hand the Blues a dramatic 3-2 win. The Blues must now win against the Toffees to keep touching distance from league leaders Man City. Chelsea has struggled for clean sheets recently and has gone five games without one. Everton has failed to score in two of their last three away games in the premier league so this looks like a good chance for Chelsea to win without conceding. Chelsea has had a bit of a blip lately but their form at Stamford Bridge has remained solid, they have three wins and two draws in five Premier League games on home ground since a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on matchday 6. However, the Blues have notched up 15 goals in their last five Premier League home games – an average of three per match and Tuchel’s men are the only team in the premier league to have hit 20 home goals for the season so far. Mateo Kovacic, Ben Chilwell, and Trevoh Chalobah are ruled out with injuries. N’Golo Kante is a major doubt. Romelu Lukaku will look to make a return to the starting XI.

EVERTON RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Things have gone from bad to worse for the blue side of Merseyside. Six days on from the delirium of beating a lackluster Arsenal side, Everton were faced with a much sterner test in the form of Crystal Palace, and the Toffees were no match for this London side as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at Selhurst Park. Midfielder Conor Gallagher stole the show with two goals with James Tomkins scoring via a corner. Salomon Rondon’s strike proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the Toffees as the pressure pile on Head Coach Rafael Benitez. Everton has now lost seven of their last nine Premier League matches – including each of their last four away from home. The Toffees now sit 14th in the premier league table, seven points off relegation places. Everton has lost four of their last five Premier League game at Stamford Bridge and are without a goal on the Blues’ turf in the league since January 2016. The Toffees remain without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies, Yerry Mina, and Lucas Digne. Richarlison and Allan are major doubts.

PREDICTION: CHELSEA WIN 1-0/2-0/2-1
