Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to continue their winning run this weekend as they take on Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Following their impressive mid-week win Besiktas in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund will be full of confidence as they return to Bundesliga action this weekend. But another tough test awaits them on Sunday against Union Berlin. The Black and Yellows have been scoring for fun this season with 13 goals but they have been poor defensively with nine goals conceded and no clean sheet so far. They have on come back goals for wins against Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim. They have conceded in the first half in all their matches this season. Head Coach Marco Rose has found it hard keeping his players fit with Julian Brandt being the latest addition to the medical room with a muscular injury. Long-term absentees Giovanni Reyna, Nico Schulz, Thorgan Hazard, Emre Can, Dan Zagadou, and Marcel Schmelzer are out and unavailable for selection.

Union Berlin has begun their Bundesliga campaign with four unbeaten for the first time ever in their history although it’s unlikely to continue when they face Dortmund.  They suffered their first defeat of the season on their UEFA Europa Conference League debut against Slavia Praha on Thursday. Despite that defeat, there is no doubt that we will see a resilient performance from Urs Fischer’s side on Sunday. Union Berlin has proven to be a tricky opponent for Borussia Dortmund over the last two years. And they could make things difficult for Marco Rose’s side once again on Sunday. Grischa Promel, and Kevin Mohwald are the only injury concerns for Urs Fischer.

Borussia Dortmund has met just twice at the Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga winning both fixtures with 2+ goals. The Black and Yellows score for fun with over 3.5 goals in seven of their last ten matches at home. Erling Haaland has scored 12 goals in his last 14 appearances for Dortmund and is tipped to score here. Union Berlin will struggle to contain Dortmund’s attack so we are backing Dortmund to win and over 1.5 goals in the first half.
