Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Monchengladbach Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
Eintracht Frankfurt host Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Eintracht are hard to beat at Commerzbank Arena, can they get back into winning form against the Foals?
Eintracht Frankfurt had been battling on three fronts prior to the break, reaching the German Cup semifinals and the UEFA Europa League Round of 16. Adi Hütter’s side beat Werder Bremen 2-0 at home in the DFB-Pokal before a 4-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s last match was a 3-0 home defeat to Basel in the Europa League. Almamy Toure hit the woodwork in the 64th minute at 1-0 down but poor defending let them down.
Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hütter has seen many of his players shake off injuries which is welcome news. Defender Marco Russ hasn’t played this season but is closer to a return. Right back Erik Durm and striker Gonçalo Paciência are doubtful.
Borussia Monchengladbach have been inconsistent but have lost only once in their last seven Bundesliga matches. That was a 2-1 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund in early March. They bounced back with a 2-1 home win against Koln behind closed doors. It was the last match before the Bundesliga was suspended. Breel Embolo scored first before an own goal established a 2-0 lead. Manager Marco Rose is missing midfielder Denis Zakaria who could return at the end of May.
Eintracht Frankfurt do their best work at home but that advantage could be nullified with no supporters in the stadium. They lost 3-0 at home in their last home match against Basel in the Europa League. Borussia Monchengladbach often get involved in open matches with another one expected here as they go for all three points. That could leave them exposed at the back with Eintracht experienced on the counter attack.
