Finland vs Greece Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
Euro 2020 | Ratinan Stadium | 5th September 2019 19:45
Finland should be too strong for Greece in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Greece at the Ratinan Stadium. The hosts have won their last three matches and should ease past the Greeks who are on a three-match losing streak.
Finland claimed a 2-0 victory against Liechtenstein in their previous qualifying fixture. Teemu Pukki opened the scoring on 37 minutes while Benjamin Kallman grabbed the second after the break.
After losing their opening fixture to group leaders Italy, Markku Kanerva’s men have been excellent in the qualifiers, winning their last three matches. Their recent good form has them at good value of 2.05 to secure their fourth consecutive victory on Thursday.
Greece suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Armenia last time out in the qualifiers. They fell two goals down in the first half with Zeca pulling one back while Konstantinos Fortunis’ effort three minutes from time proved to be a mere consolation. John Van’t Schip’s men have been woeful in the qualifiers and travel to Finland off the back of three straight defeats.
Greece have eight wins and three draws while Finland have claimed five victories from 16 previous matches. The Finns have claimed the upper hand in recent meetings with two wins from their last three matches, including a 2-0 home triumph in the UEFA Nations League in 2018.
Teemu Pukki will be the one to watch for Finland as he heads into Thursday’s clash with five goals in four English Premier League matches for Norwich. He has a good understanding with Benjamin Kallman and both men should trouble the Greek backline. Greece have looked off colour going forward with Efthymis Koulouris failing to score in nine international matches. He is likely to struggle against the Finland defence that has kept clean sheets in their last three outings.
PREDICTION : FINLAND 2-0
