Atletico Madrid will be looking to avoid a fourth straight La Liga defeat when they take on Granada on Wednesday night.
GRANADA RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD
Since returning to La Liga in 2019, Granada has finished seventh and ninth in the last two seasons but they have struggled this season. Robert Moreno’s side has only won four of 17 La Liga matches this season, while a total of 19 points has left them in 15th position in the table, just four points safe of the relegation zone. They will enter this match off the back of a thumping 4-1 victory over Mallorca on Sunday evening, with Veteran striker Jorge Molina scoring a hattrick. Granada are now on a four-game unbeaten run in La Liga, with wins in their last two home league matches. However, Granada has one of the worst home records defensively in La Liga this season with thirteen goals conceded and one clean sheet in eight home matches. Ruben Rochina, Angel Montoro, and Domingos Duarte are ruled out with injuries.
ATLETICO MADRID RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD
Defending champions Atletico Madrid are on a rough patch in their title defense. After a convincing 4-1 win over Cadiz, Simeone’s side seemed to be in touch with leaders Real Madrid but three consecutive La Liga defeats to Mallorca, Real Madrid, and Sevilla has seen them crash out of the top four. Atletico looked to be on course for a point at Estadio Ramon on Saturday, only for Lucas Ocampos to win it for Sevilla in the final stages. Simeone’s men are 14 points behind leaders Real Madrid and only two points clear of seventh-placed Barcelona. Atletico Madrid has now gone six games without keeping a clean sheet and have already conceded 20 times in just 17 La Liga games – the worst record in terms of goals conceded per match in the top six. Marcos Llorente, Antoine Griezmann, Sime Vrsaljko, and Stefan Savic are ruled out with injuries.
PREDICTION: MADRID WIN 1-0/2-0/2-1
