Hoffenheim vs Hertha Berlin Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Hoffenheim host Hertha Berlin at PreZero Arena when the Bundesliga resumes on Saturday. Hertha Berlin will be playing their first match under new boss Bruno Labbadia and should prove hard to beat.

The break came at a good time for Hoffenheim who had failed to win in their last six matches in all competitions. They were knocked out of the German Cup after a 4-3 defeat at Bayern Munich and lost their next two Bundesliga matches.
Hoffenheim bounced back with a 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach, but suffered a humbling 6-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich where they were 3-0 down after 15 minutes.
Alfred Schreuder’s side earned a 1-1 draw at Schalke in their last match thanks to Christoph Baumgartner’s second half equaliser. Forwards Ishak Belfodil, Sargis Adamyan and Andrej Kramaric are all injured. Munas Dabbur could return from injury but might have to settle for a spot on the bench.

Hertha Berlin have had a drama filled season on and off the pitch. New manager Ante Covic didn’t last long, Jürgen Klinsmann stormed out of the club in February and interim manager Alexander Nouri made way for Bruno Labbadia in early April. Klinsmann left Hertha after a 3-1 home defeat to Mainz. They responded with a 2-1 win at Paderborn but lost their next match 5-0 at home against Koln.  Hertha Berlin drew 3-3 at Fortuna Dusseldorf after being 3-0 down at half time. They drew their previous match 2-2 at home, once again coming from behind after being 2-0 down after six minutes.

Bruno Labbadia is the new manager at Hertha Berlin after doing a good job at Wolfsburg. Defenders Dedryck Boyata and Peter Pekarík were carrying knocks before the break but should have recovered. Winger Matthew Leckie is another player who has had time to get over injury.
Central defender Karim Rekik is injured and central midfielder Vladimir Darida is suspended. Forward Salomon Kalou has been suspended by the club and has played his last game for the club.

Hoffenheim have a 9-5 advantage against Hertha Berlin with five draws in 19 meetings. Hoffenheim won this fixture 2-0 last season, won 3-2 in Berlin in October with the three previous matches all draws. Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin have been very inconsistent this season. Hertha Berlin made a sharp appointment in hiring Bruno Labbadia however and he should bring some stability to the club. Anything could happen in this match. Hertha should be much stronger under Bruno Labbadia with the most likely result a 1-1 draw.
