Leeds vs Arsenal Premier League Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

Leeds face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. Both teams struggled to get results in the Premier League prior to the international break, but will either return to action with a win?

Leeds have dropped to 15th in the Premier League table after a poor run of form before the international break.  Marcelo Bielsa’s team have won just one of their last five league matches, starting with a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. That positive result was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Wolves before they then beat Aston Villa 3-0 away from home. Successive 4-1 defeats to Leicester and Crystal Palace have followed since. Leeds’ defensive troubles in those games will be worrying to supporters with eight goals conceded in their last two matches. Leeds will assess the fitness of Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo. Gaetano Berardi, Diego Llorente, Adam Forshaw and Jamie Shackleton are all set to miss out.

Arsenal will need to improve their recent form if they are to stand any chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season. Mikel Arteta’s team have lost three of their last four matches in the Premier League and sit 11th in the table. The first of those three losses came against Manchester City and Leicester, before they then beat Manchester United 1-0. That victory was then undone by a dismal performance last time out. Arsenal were beaten 3-0 by Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium and were completely outplayed in doing so. Midfielder Thomas Partey is a doubt with a thigh injury. Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Mohamed Elneny, Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson are unavailable.

Leeds’ games have often resembled basketball matches this season and I’m expecting another open, back and forth contest this Sunday. Arsenal have lacked creativity but there will be space left by Leeds for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to expose on the break. Leeds’ games have been open encounters and I’m expecting that to continue in this fixture. Arsenal have struggled for form of late but I expect them to exploit the spaces left behind by Leeds open attacking football.
