Lens vs PSG ligue 1 Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

Paris Saint-Germain start their Ligue 1 season with a trip to promoted Lens. PSG have been rocked with a coronavirus outbreak and are missing much of their attack, can the French champions still get a result ?

Lens were promoted to Ligue 1 after being second in Ligue 2 when the season was called off. They were previously in the French top flight in 2014/15 when they finished bottom with 23 defeats. Franck Haise’s side lost 2-1 at Nice in their first match of the season on 23 August. They had 16-4 shots and 42% possession, Gaël Kakuta’s penalty putting them ahead in the 11th minute. Central midfielder Seko Fofana is doubtful as he regains full fitness following a summer move from Udinese. Left wing-back Massadio Haidara is suspended. Haise should stick with the same starting side used at Nice before the international break.

Paris Saint-Germain returned to competitive action in the French Cup final with a 1-0 win against Saint-Etienne. Thomas Tuchel’s side then lifted the French League Cup after beating Lyon on penalties in the final. PSG turned their attention to the UEFA Champions League, beating Atalanta 2-1 and Leipzig 3-0 to reach the final. They took on Bayern Munich and lost 1-0 in Lisbon. Kylian Mbappe, Keylor Navas, Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi and Neymar are all out after testing positive for COVID-19. Striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is ineligible. Goalkeeper Sergio Rico is ineligible and Alphonso Areola is in talks to leave the club, with 20-year-old Garissone Innocent in line for a surprise start.

PSG won both matches with ease the last time Lens were in Ligue 1. The French champions have a host of first team players missing, will they still be too good?
