Liverpool vs Leeds Premier League Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

Leeds’ first Premier League match since 2004 takes place against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. The newcomers should improve in the coming months, but are likely to find the Reds too strong this early in the campaign.

Liverpool ended their successful Premier League season with a 3-1 win at Newcastle. Jürgen Klopp’s side returned to competitive action against Arsenal in the FA Community Shield. Takumi Minamino came off the bench to equalise before they lost in a penalty shootout. Liverpool won 7-2 in a friendly against Blackpool with Joel Matip, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliot, Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Sepp van den Berg all on target. Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has returned to full training but is unlikely to start, Naby Keita his likely replacement.  Trent Alexander-Arnold is also unfit with Neco Williams to start at right-back. Georginio Wijnaldum has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and could be on the bench as a result. New left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas is struggling with illness.

Leeds finally return to the English Premier League. Marcelo Bielsa’s side won the Championship by 10 points last season. The Whites won 12 of their last 14 matches including 4-0 at Hull, 3-0 against Fulham, 3-1 at Blackburn, 5-0 against Stoke, 3-1 at Derby and 4-0 against Chartlon. Leeds have been busy in the transfer market, adding club-record signing Rodrigo Moreno. The Spanish striker is expected to lead the line at Anfield ahead of last season’s top scorer Patrick Bamford. Fellow summer signing Robin Koch should line up in defence. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have re-signed left-back.

Jack Harrison from Manchester City on loan for another season. Leeds look have a fully fit squad available. Liverpool are a long way into their development which culminated with Champions League and Premier League titles.  Leeds are at the beginning of a long journey, and as such will likely need more time before they can challenge Liverpool at Anfield.
