Mallorca vs Barcelona Preview, La Liga Predictions & Betting Tips

Mallorca currently occupy the last relegation spot in La Liga and will be desperate to get out. It has been three months since they played so there is hope the break has done them a favour. Before the break Mallorca managed to get a 1-0 victory over Deportivo Alaves at the Son Moix before a 3-3 draw at Real Betis. Vecente Moreno’s men followed that up with a home defeat against Getafe but bounced straight back to win 2-1 at Eibar in their last match. History is not on their side here with six straight defeats to Barcelona but defensively they have been sound at home recently. Mallorca are not sweating on any fitness issues at the moment. The only players missing are left-backs Abdul Rahman Baba and Leonardo Kourtris.

Barcelona are vying for the La Liga title against arch rivals Real Madrid and can ill afford a slow start after the break. Things were not playing sailing before the break. A 5-0 win against Eibar at Camp Nou wasn’t unexpected but they followed up with a 1-1 draw away to Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.  Barca’s return to La Liga action saw them lose 2-0 to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu before a 1-0 home win against Real Sociedad. Barcelona have Ousmane Dembele on the injury list and the winger is not expected to feature again this season. Arturo Vidal, Sergio Busquets and Clement Lenglet are all suspended for the trip to Mallorca.

Mallorca have struggled against Barcelona in the past. The visitors should have too much firepower but it’s the first match after three months. My expectation is that Mallorca will defend manfully but Barca should get over the line.
