Metz vs PSG Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
France Ligue 1 | Stade Saint-Symphorien | 30th August 19:45
PSG should be too strong for Metz in their French Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Saint-Symphorien. The champions are coming off a comfortable victory in their previous fixture and are backed in the -1 handicap market at odds of 2.05.
Metz suffered a 3-0 defeat at Angers last time out in Ligue 1. They fell behind early in the contest and never looked like troubling the hosts, mustering only two attempts on target in 90 minutes. The newly promoted side have found things difficult having claimed just one win in their last five matches stretching back to preseason. Frederic Antonetti’s men are expected to continue their struggles on Friday, an unlikely win against the champions is priced at 7.50 while a draw is set at odds of 5.50.
PSG were rampant in their previous Ligue 1 fixture as they claimed a 4-0 victory at home against Toulouse. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting netted a second half brace while Marquinhos was also on target.
The champions have made a good start to their title defence with two wins from their opening three matches. Thomas Tuchel’s men are priced at odds of 1.36 to triumph in Metz but with eight goals scored this season and just two conceded, a -1 handicap bet should offer more value.
PSG will be without Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe who are both set for spells on the sidelines with injury. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting deputised brilliantly last time out and should continue in attack alongside Pablo Sarabia and Angel Di Maria.
Even without Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, PSG should still have too much for Metz. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting showed his quality in their absence with his brace against Toulouse and will be confident of getting on the score sheet on Friday.
PREDICTION : PSG 1-4
