Real Madrid will look to extend their lead at the La Liga table with a win against relegation-threatened Cadiz at the Bernabeu on Sunday night.

Real Madrid are comfortably clear at the top of the La Liga table after a magnificent seven consecutive league victories. Their tally of 42 points is the best they have achieved at this stage of a La Liga season since the 2014/15 season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are in ominous form as they look to reclaim the title. They have scored in every game except two this season and have already kept six clean sheets in 17 games, four of which were at home. They have racked up ten wins in a row in all competitions, and are eight points clear at the top of La Liga following last week’s 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid. Indeed, Real have only conceded five goals at the Bernabeu in La Liga this season, with only Rayo Vallecano picking up more points on home soil than their total of 20. Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti has a number of injury concerns as Rodrygo, Modric, Asensio, Marcelo, and Gareth Bale are out with Covid. Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal are major doubts. Eden Hazard is set to start here.

Cadiz has had their struggles with consistency this La Liga campaign. They are in the relegation zone after picking up just thirteen points all season and have won just one of their last six away games in La Liga. They have failed to score in six of their 17 matches, and although they have netted nine times in eight games on the road, this is an altogether different test to most of the away matches they have had so far. Cadiz managed a 1-0 victory over the ‘Los Blancos in their last visit but any shock result is unlikely given Madrid’s impeccable form. Midfielders Jose Mari and Ander Garrido are ruled out with injuries. Salvi Sanchez is suspended. Defender Iza Carcelen is a major doubt.

PREDICTION: MADRID WIN 2-0/2-1/3-0/3-1
