Real Madrid will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in Group D when they continue their 2021-22 Champions League campaign at home to Sheriff Tiraspol on Tuesday night.

Real Madrid began their Champions League campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro. They have made an impressive start to the 2021-22 La Liga season, picking up 17 points winning five, and drawing two La Liga matches to sit top of the table. Their last champions league outing was a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan thanks to a Rodrygo 89th minute winner. Real Madrid has been scoring for fun this season with 22 goals and conceding just eight. Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti is without Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Dani Carvajal, and Gareth Bale as they miss out through long-term injuries. Midfielder Toni Kroos and Marcelo returned to training and could start from the bench. Lucas Vasquez is expected to start in the left-back position and Eden Hazard replacing Rodrygo on the wing.

Champions League debutants Sheriff Tiraspol made a dream start with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk. They started brightly with Adama Traore scoring the opener in the 16th minute. Despite doing most of defending, they managed to double their lead when Momo Yansane scored in the 62nd minute to grab all three points and a clean sheet. Sheriff Tiraspol will enter this match having a strong start to their 2021-22 domestic campaign with Yuriy Vernydub’s side picking up 19 points from their eight league matches to sit third in the table. Sheriff Tiraspol are a high-scoring side with 15 goals in their last five competitive matches. Head Coach Yuriy Vernydub has no new injury concerns and will travel to Bernabeu with a full squad.

Real Madrid is a team in fine form with their last defeat coming in last season’s champions league semi-final against Chelsea. They have scored over 2.5 goals in four of their last six competitive games. Sheriff Tiraspol has shown their defensive capabilities with eight clean sheets in their last ten games. However, they will have a hard time shutting out Madrid’s attack so we are backing a Madrid win and over 2.5 goals.
