Sevilla vs Barcelona La Liga Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Sevilla entertain Barcelona at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Friday night. Barcelona have a fine record against Sevilla and they should keep that going in this clash.

Sevilla are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions. They have managed just three wins in that time, with too many draws a worry for manager Julen Lopetegui. Sevilla drew 1-1 with Levante at the Estadio Camilo Cano on Monday night. Luuk de Jong gave Sevilla an early second-half lead, but the curse of the draw came back to bite them when Miramón equalised for Levante with minutes to go. Sevilla did manage to claim three points in their first match back from the break by beating Real Betis 2-0 in Sevilla. Sevilla have no fresh injury concerns to worry about, but utility-man Jesus Navas and midfielder Franco Vazquez are one booking away from a suspension.

Prior to the break Barcelona lost to Real Madrid 2-0 at the Bernabeu before defeating Real Sociedad 1-0 at Camp Nou.  Barcelona’s return to La Liga action saw them thump Mallorca 4-0 at the Estadio de Son Moix before the defeated Leganes 2-0 in their last match. Ansu Fati opened the scoring while Lionel Messi added a goal from the penalty spot in the second half. Barca have scored 43 goals in their last 15 meetings with Sevilla which should fill them with confidence. Barca have another match before the trip to Sevilla with Leganes visiting Camp Nou on Tuesday night. Attacker Ousmane Dembele is still injured alongside midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Matches between Sevilla and Barcelona are usually packed with goals with an average of 3.41 goals per game.

  • Sevilla have seen over 3.5 goals in 2 of their last 3 home matches (La Liga).
  • Sevilla have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 home matches (La Liga).
  • Sevilla have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 8 matches against Barcelona. (all competitions).
  • Barcelona have seen over 3.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 matches against Sevilla (all competitions).
  • Barcelona have won 8 of their last 10 matches against Sevilla (all competitions).

Sevilla won’t go down without a fight so more goals should be the order of the day.
Barca’s strength in attack is well documented, but Sevilla have danger men in Lucas Ocampos and Luuk de Jong who have been among the goals lately.
