Slavia Prague vs Borussia Dortmund Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
UEFA Champions League | Eden Arena | 2nd October 2019 17:55
Slavia Prague host Borussia Dortmund at the Sinobo Stadium in what should be an evenly contested UEFA Champions League match. The Czech champions are very hard to beat as shown on Matchday 1 where they were unlucky not to win in Milan.
Slavia Prague got off to a great start in the Champions League with a 1-1 draw at high flying Inter Milan. Peter Olayinka put the Czech Republic champions ahead but they conceded a late equaliser to take a hard earned point back home. Jindrich Trpisovsky’s side are very hard to beat, unbeaten in their last 19 matches in all competitions and currently top of the Czech Liga. Their last result was a 1-0 home win against Mladá Boleslav, Olayinka scoring the winner with his fourth goal of the season.
Striker Milan Skoda didn’t feature in Milan but could partner Olayinka up front here. Midfielder Josef Husbauer has been in great form this season and should be joined by Tomas Soucek and Petr Sevcik in the engine room. Sevcik has provided nine assists in seven appearances this season.
Borussia Dortmund should have beaten Barcelona at home in their opening Champions League match. Marco Reus saw his penalty saved and the German club wasted other great opportunities to score. The Black and Yellows then drew two straight matches in the Bundesliga, 2-2 at Eintracht Frankfurt and a 2-2 home draw against Werder Bremen. Goals to Mario Götze and Marco Reus put Dortmund 2-1 up against Bremen but more sloppy defending cost them points.
Borussia Dortmund are close to full strength, Mats Hummels should return here which would mean the injured Nico Schulz & Paco Alcacer are the only notable absentees. Lucien Favre’s side have a fearsome attack in Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus & Thorgan Hazard.
PREDICTION : DRAW 1-1
ACCUMULATOR TIP : BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
