Union Berlin will look to continue their impressive start to the 2021-22 Bundesliga campaign when they host Bayern Munich at the Stadion Forsterei on Saturday.

Union Berlin has been impressive so far in the Bundesliga this league. A 1-1 draw against Stuttgart in their last time out made it four Bundesliga games unbeaten (W3, D1), keeping them 5th in the Bundesliga standings with 16 points – six points adrift this weekend opposition Bayern Munich. Last weekend dying minute equalizer mage it three games ‘The Irons’ have failed to hang on to three points as four (43%) league goals this term have arrived after the 75th minute. They are currently on an unbeaten run at home although that run is likely to end when they face Bayern Munich this weekend.

Bayern Munich although in fine form in the Bundesliga this season, will need to bounce back from a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Monchengladbach in the DFB Pokal mid-week. They are currently top in the Bundesliga after seven wins, one draw, and one loss. They have been scoring for fun this season with 33 goals so far – the most in all European leagues. Defensively, Bayern Munich hasn’t been solid as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven Bundesliga away games. Bayern Munich will be wary of this weekend’s opposition as they have struggled against them in previous meetings. Head Coach Julien Nagelsmann is with a full squad with all players fit and available for selection.

Union Berlin has been successful in keeping a high-scoring Bayern side at bay with 1-1 draws in their last two Bundesliga meetings. They have also been solid defensively at home this season with seven clean sheets in their last ten games on home ground. However, Bayern Munich has scored over 2.5 goals in all but one game this season. Taiwo Awoniyi is set to pose a threat to opposition defense with eight goals in his last seven appearances.
