Juventus will look to close the gap to the top four in the Serie A table with a win against newly-promoted Venezia on Saturday evening.

VENEZIA RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Venezia has had a decent start to the 2021-22 Serie A season ranking-wise. With four wins, three draws, and seven losses they currently sit 16th in the Serie A table – five points clear of 18th placed Cagliari. Venezia led comfortably 3-0 against Hellas Verona in their last Serie A outing before conceding three goals in 15 minutes to lose the game in a 4-3 thriller. Venezia have lost to ‘nil against all top four sides in the Serie A. Paolo Zanetti’s men have also leaked two or more goals in each of their last four home games; equalling the club’s longest such run in the top flight. Losses to free-scoring Atalanta and reigning champions Inter Milan may have been as expected, but with Juventus and Lazio mean that Venezia’s struggles could be set to continue for a while yet. Defender Pietro Ceccaroni is suspended and unavailable. Luca Fiordilino and striker David Okereke are ruled out with injuries. Back from a ban, Ethan Ampadu will return to midfield.

JUVENTUS RESULTS, STATS, SQUAD

Following a 2-0 victory over relegation threatened Genoa last Sunday – Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala scoring at either end of the game, with Wednesday’s win against Malmo has eased some of the pressure building on Max Allegri and his much-criticised squad.  Juventus have now qualified for the last 16 as Group H winners, and can now concentrate fully on their faltering Serie A campaign as they look to close a 11 point gap from table toppers AC Milan. Juventus has scored in 12 consecutive Serie A away matches, winning three of their last five with a clean sheet. Juventus has conceded just one goal in their last five Serie A matches with signs of a much improving defense. Max Allegri will rally his side to open the scoring as they are one of five Serie A teams yet to win a league match after conceding first this season. Long term absentees Dejan Kulusevski, Federico Chiesa, Weston McKennie, and Aaron Ramsey are unavailable for selection. Danilo is a major doubt.
