Barcelona will be looking to make it back-to-back La Liga wins under new manager Xavi when they travel to Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday to take on Villarreal.

Villarreal has had a disappointing start to the season. They sit 12th in the La Liga table with 16 points. Villarreal have won three, drawn seven and lost three of their 13 league matches this season. Their last La Liga outing was a frustarting 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo. Unai Emery’s side will also enter this match off the back of a disappointing result in the Champions League, losing 2-0 at home to Manchester United on Tuesday. They have scored 15 goals and conceded 13 in the La Liga this season. Key forward Gerard Moreno is a major doubt following his recent strugglues with a hamstring injury.

New Manager Xavi did manage to deliver a victory in his first league match in charge last weekend, with the Catalan outfit running out 1-0 winners over Espanyol courtesy of a penalty from Memphis Depay. There is no getting away from the fact that it has been a tough season to date for Barcelona, who sit seventh in the La Liga table,  six points off fourth-placed Atletico Madrid and 10 points behind division leaders Real Madrid. Head Coach Xavi has a depleted squad as Sergi Roberto, Pedri, Ansu Fati, Sergio Aguero, Ronald Araujo and Martin Braithwaite are all still unavailable.
