Eintracht Frankfurt can extend their winning run in the Bundesliga and maintain their top four hopes. Werder Bremen will put up a fight but the Eagles have more attacking weapons.
Werder Bremen have managed to stabilise after a terrible run of form from October to December. They won 4-1 at Hertha Berlin before a 1-1 draw against Schalke. Florian Kohfeldt’s side advanced to the German Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 home win against Greuther Fürth. Werder Bremen have failed to score in their last two Bundesliga matches, a 0-0 draw against Freiburg and a 4-0 defeat at Hoffenheim. Left back Ludwig Augustinsson could return here. Kohfeldt should make some changes up front with Yuya Osako and Niclas Füllkrug options to start.
Eintracht Frankfurt have been in great form, winning nine of their last 10 Bundesliga matches and their last five. The Eagles won by 2+ goals against Arminia Bielefeld (5-1), Hertha Berlin (3-1), Hoffenheim (3-1) and Köln (2-0). Adi Hütter’s side hosted Bayern Munich on Saturday and came away with a 2-1 win. Daichi Kamada opened the scoring and assisted Amin Younes who made it 2-0. Eintracht held on under heavy pressure but managed to hold on against the Bavarians. Younes was untouchable in the first half and man of the match. Eintracht Frankfurt right back Erik Durm is doubtful and centre back Evan N’Dicka is suspended. Midfielder Djibril Sow is available after suspension. Star striker Andre Silva missed the Bayern match with a back injury and remains doubtful.
Werder Bremen have a 44-42 advantage against Eintracht Frankfurt with 24 draws in 110 matches. Eintracht won two straight matches before a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt in October. Eintracht Frankfurt are deserved favourites here don’t keep many clean sheets. We are backing BTTS with the Eagles to win 2-1 in Bremen.
