Wolfsburg host Borussia Dortmund at Volkswagen Arena on Saturday. The Wolves are fighting for sixth spot in the Bundesliga, can they dent Dortmund’s title challenge ?

Wolfsburg are sixth in the Bundesliga and fighting hard for UEFA Europa League qualification. The Wolves are still alive in the Europa League and have won six of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Wolfsburg won four straight matches in February but their form tailed off before the break. They drew 2-2 at Union Berlin and 0-0 at home against Leipzig before a 2-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League. Oliver Glasner’s side returned to action with a 2-1 win at Augsburg. Renato Steffen scored the opening goal and Daniel Ginczek came off the bench to score a late winner. Right back William and defensive midfielder Ignacio Camacho are expected to be out for the remainder of the season. Midfielders Yannick Gerhardt has a facial fracture and Josuha Guilavogui is struggling with a knee injury. Striker and top scorer Wout Weghorst returns from suspension and should replace Joao Victor up front.

Borussia Dortmund have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions. Lucien Favre’s side were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 defeat at PSG before the break.
They bounced back in the Bundesliga with a convincing 4-0 home win against Schalke. Erling Haaland, Raphael Guerreiro (2) and Thorgan Hazard were on target with the result never in doubt. Central defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, left back Nico Schulz and central midfielders Emre Can and Axel Witsel are injured.  Forward Jadon Sancho came off the bench against Schalke but is not 100% fit. Captain Marco Reus is doubtful and could be out for the rest of the season.

Borussia Dortmund have a great recent record against Wolfsburg, winning eight of their last nine Bundesliga matches against Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg have failed to score in their last six matches against Borussia Dortmund and this will be their toughest test for some time.
